All About Me!
I'm new here, these are some things you should know about me and my writing!
Hey friends, I’m Kaelin! I’m studying painting and creative writing at Savannah College of Art and Design. I came across substack on social media and thought “hey, this is perfect”, so I joined in hopes that my writing would find a special place within people.
I want to create a space for people with heavy hearts, the people who feel everything so deeply. I’m an empathetic person and I’ve learned to use that in my writing. Raw, gut wrenching emotions are my favorite, so I typically don’t hold back when it comes to describing a certain feeling. This is also a common theme within my art, however, I focus more on evoking uncomfortable feelings with my paintings. For example, here’s an oil painting I made, titled I Didn’t Mean To Bite.
Within my paintings and writing, I use trauma, grief, womanhood, and other emotional themes. I love pushing the viewer/reader to another level. Feeling heavy and sad and emotional is good! It is such a beautiful thing to be sensitive and I want that to be felt when I create.
